BAN KHAI OVERVIEW

The area between Thong Sala and Haad Rin is split into two sections known as Ban Tai and Ban Kai. Thong Sala is home to the pier and main gateway onto Koh Phangan whilst Haad Rin plays host the world-renowned full moon parties. Ban Khai is closer to Haad Rin and the wild all night parties so is ideal for those who want easy access to the nightlife and also a quiet place to rest their head once they make it back. The beach is large and beautiful and whilst there are not many luxury villas to rent there are a number of options for beachfront bungalows and guesthouses.

There are a few stores and travel agents that will keep you fully stocked up with plenty of activities on your agenda. There is also some Internet shops and ATM machines. As if the beach and the nightlife wasn’t enough to keep you entertained, there is also a herbal sauna, just a short walk away, which is open afternoons and evenings. In the same area as the sauna, you will also find one of Koh Phangan’s oldest temples known as Wat Pho and the Island’s biggest tree, which is a truly impressive site.

Although most of the accommodation along this stretch is made up of beach bungalows and guesthouses there is a scattering of luxury properties, including long stay villas and holiday villas. The arrival of the luxury resorts of Chantaramas and the Coast are paving the way for more prime real estate in this location. The recent increase in luxury holiday villas and properties are putting this area on the map as a premier holiday destination for those who want to enjoy the Full moon parties but recover in some considerable luxury afterwards!
