EATING OUT IN KOH PHANGAN
Once only known for laid back Thai food restaurants on the beach, Koh Phangan is re-inventing itself as a foodie destination.
With the advent of so many nationalities from across the globe choosing to buy holiday homes on the island or make Koh Phangan their more permanent home, the choice of cuisine has never been wider.
The increase in French residents making Koh Phangan their home has seen the opening of several patisseries and cafes serving fresh croissants, quiches and other sweet treats. There are a couple of very nice French restaurants on the beach in Wok Tum where you can get a good apero while watching the sun set.
There are a few Japanese places which do fresh sushi. There are a whole host of vegan and vegetarian places, particularly in Sri Thanu, which is home to the ever-growing yoga community. There are some great Lebanese/Middle Eastern restaurants if you fancy fresh falafel and hummus. There are a several Italian restaurants, some good burger joints, a couple of Mexican restaurants, Indian restaurants and even a Greek restaurant.
Of course, if you fancy Thai food there is a whole host of options from cheap eats on the beach to the more upmarket restaurants in the five star luxury resorts or in restaurants such as Fishermans or Beach Lounge which offer first class Thai food in romantic settings. Chaloklum is the place to head to for fresh fish where you can see the fishermen bringing in the catch of the day for your supper.
Of course, if you do fancy staying in the comfort of your luxury villa we have the details of a Private chef who will be able to cook for you for those nights you wish to dine in your villa.
